ORANGE

I had a dentist appointment this afternoon.

Dentists are not my friends – they bring pain and agony to my mouth with little shiny steel instruments of torture.

I really hate the Dentist Office

But, for the time being, it is a necessary evil. Just the thought that the dentist might stretch the cleaning into two separate visits had the death march running through my thoughts …

The Bowed Lyre Funeral March tune:(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=muRr8WqrU48)

… so, I mentally prepared myself by laying in bed as long as possible before getting ready to go.

‘Hold Your Head UP’ song: (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k5fYPz8dKbg) … and would you believe it? Rod Argent was wearing an orange shirt ðŸ˜‰

I wore a bright color to wrap vibes of positivity around me: I was hoping and praying the dentist would be able to complete the cleaning all in one fell swoop.

The orange top may seem a little too youthful for a woman my age – but I’m not a woman that adheres to strict societal rules very well 😉 I tend to do what’s best for me. And the orange top fit the bill today 😊

The day was orangishly HOTand I arrived at the appointment early. Which meant I sat in the sunbaked car for an hour trying every seated gymnastic maneuver I could think of, to outwit the orange-tinged sunrays piercing the windshield (mind you, it is illegal to leave dog in a sunbaked car; apparently cooking grandma’s brain is totally acceptable in this covid crazed society!): not a good start to what would be a stressful day.

But Elohim was merciful. My brain did not fry, and my skin did not sizzle – even if my temper was seriously heating up as I was kept waiting, for no logical or rational reasoning at all other than lunatic politics. And when I was finally allowed in the sacred sanctum of the torture chamber, Elohim’s blessed grace kicked in 😊

Sitting in that outdated 1970’s cubicle with its orangish wall covering, while the dentist applied her S & M manipulations on my Novocaine handicapped mouth; I was happy to note that the pain was minimal (THANK YOU YESHUA!), and the dentist was able to finish e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g in this appointment: hallelujah!

The 2 hours of scrape and polish torture passed very quickly.

My previous dentist appointment Post: https://jeastofeden.blogspot.com/2022/06/i-should-have-stayed-in-bed.html

My feet were dragging when I entered the building at 3 PM – but they fairly danced out of the building afterwards. My mouth was swollen, but my lip was not torn up like it was a few weeks ago when the first half of my mouth was done. And the tab wasn’t as high as anticipated.

So, I went shopping: grocery shopping to get some soft foods to eat until I can chew chewier food stuffs. And when I waked past an aisle, I noticed something I have been looking for in every auto shop in town (and they didn’t know what I was talking about), and praying I’d find somewhere; if my mouth wasn’t so tender, I would have whooped with joy 😉

My mood was lining up with the unfolding day – full of sunbeams 😊

On my way home, I stopped at Safeway and grabbed a few juices, before I took the Old Pacific Highway back road home – it was just way too hot to get stuck behind backed-up traffic. Plus, I had salads in the back of the Highlander’s hatchback area and I didn’t want them to wilt and sour.

Just before turning onto the backroad, I saw a car for sale that looked like a Duesenberg; it was tricked out with velvet interior. Nice looking car, and really not much good for anything except car shows.

It looks like a Duesenberg Automobile; corner of 30th & Old Pacific Highway.

When I got home, I put the groceries away – and thought how thoughtful Elohim was to make sure I finally got the windshield cleaner I’d been looking high and low for (it cleans bug guts off the windshield just by squirting it on; Bob used it quite a bit when the bugs were thick); and I changed my top for something a little less fancy, to water the garden in. The sun was going down by that point, so I didn’t get sunburned.

None of the Auto Shops knew what I was talking about ... I snagged it today, in Winco.
“The Lord directs the steps of the godly; He delights in every detail of their lives” ~Psalm 37:23-24

I was just sitting down to Supper, when I caught sight of the twilight sunset: it was different on different sides of the livingroom.

The orange theme played out through the entire day, and as I looked at the fiery orange clouds I thought of Bob; and wondered what it must look like from his side of the clouds.

This Gypsy woman was missing her big, tall Viking man, big time.

Twilight Sky, tonight; right side of livingroom.
Fire in the sky; facing the street side of livingroom.
Bonehawk – ‘Fire In The Sky’ song:

Orange was Bob’s “happy color” signified by his zodiac sign, and when I saw it spread across the sky like wildfire it reminded me of how our love sparked, caught flame, and still burned hotly for all of our 44 years together.

He’s been beyond the clouds for 3½ years now, but I can still remember every feature of his handsome face, his twinkling eyes, his sexy mouth; every line of his beautiful body. I can still hear the sound of his voice, his laughter – the soft whooshing sound he made when he slept. Bob is still very much a part of me and who I am becoming: Bob’s personality and love was so large, that my life still hums and vibrates with the essence he left behind.

I am glad to know that my healing heart is gladdened – not shaken by the orange glow that softened my day, today.

Bob; Love of my life, forever and always ~OX
The bear constellations were always my favorite ...
Big Bear & Little Bear Constellations; aka Big Dipper & Little Dipper. I've always found them in the night sky - I always look for them.
Venus Hum – 'Whether or Not’ song:

Orange was the perfect color to start … and to end the day with 😊

CHRISTMAS DAY 2021

Well … Elohim granted me another day of life: I woke up this morning after last night’s harrowing asthma attack.

Last night I had gone to bed drained, sore, and still struggling to breathe after I was finally able to use my inhaler; and I honestly did not believe I’d make it through the night – even with my fancy electrical bed that rises my upper body to allow easier breathing.

But Elohim apparently thinks I have more to do, here on Earth; and has granted me a stay with the Grim Reaper in my life’s timeline.

This is the second serious asthma attack this year; and the most serious one - I literally could not suck air in. I felt like plastic wrapping had been placed over my face: I could feel blood vessels popping on my face, chest, and in my throat. It lasted longer, was very severe, and nearly gave me a heart attack on top of it (my left arm, as well as my rib cage, was still aching when I went to bed).

Christmas Eve Asthma Attack: https://jeastofeden.blogspot.com/2021/12/christmas-eve-asthma-attack.html

I am glad I was able to talk with our oldest granddaughter from the East Coast, yesterday – before the attack.

My niece-daughter, in Nevada, texted me this morning, bright and early 😊

And, she called before noon: my throat was sore/voice was hoarse from the strenuous coughing last night; and when she asked why … I told her. I also told her to enjoy her holiday and not worry about me, as I am breathing easier this morning – and I am alive.

She told me that I “need someone” in my life … and I told her I’m thinking about it.

Bob will always be my man – but he wanted me to get on with life; and he understood that I would need someone I could count on to be with me in times like last night. Bob knew I would never love anyone else like him: but Bob also knew I’d need a friend in my life who cares if I live or die; someone who would help me get over the hump of bad times like last night. When one is literally suffocating … it helps to have another person around who can think clearly and step into the gap.

I made light of the possibility of my dying, and no one would know until the stench made it obvious to anyone passing by my house.

That is a real concern.

No loving husband; a real helpmate.

No kids who care enough to care.

No grandkids who live nearby; they care, they just aren’t readily available to help.

No friends who are “close friends”.

I did make arrangements shortly after becoming a Widow – I informed family members on both sides, of my heart and lung issues, asked a few of them if they’d be my contacts (they said yes) – and I made extra housekeys … and handed them out.

All the people who should be calling daily to check up on me (those with house keys for that specific reason), have not called. AT ALL; 2019 was 2 years ago. The ”networking” is not working. Communication is full of static; and the links are broken.

I do have friends. But, they have families of their own. When it comes to “hookups”, they think of getting together for coffee, and occasional lunches/suppers – they are not thinking of checking up on me to make sure I am alive day to day; I am a friend – I am not their family member.

None of these people understand what it is to be totally alone; I am not faulting them - by and large, they are good people who have embraced me - but, they have people in thier lives 24/7/365: they cannot comprehend that I am quite literally a.l.o.n.e. in life with life threatening issues, on a daily basis (weak lungs/faulty heart). They all joke about needing to be alone (jokingly wishing away thier hubby and kids "that annoy them"), but they don't understand the seriousness that a solo lobo life entails.

And then there is the 24/7/365 covid hysteria that has people (even some of those mentioned above) too scared to risk getting involved: making a house call to see why I am not answering my phone will not be happening from scaredy-cats.

And if I cannot breathe; I cannot call 911.

If I die, no one will know but me and God.

All that said …

I saw through phone notifications yesterday, that snow would be arriving around 5 AM this morning, so – when I stumbled off to bed last night, I set the alarm clock ‘just in case’ I actually woke up: this snowbaby likes to watch the first flakes of snow falling 😊

However, snow did not make an appearance this morning.

As of yet (12:42 PM), snow still is not on the air. There is snow on the KM (about 45 minutes away); there is snow on Beaver Creek (a few miles up the road; maybe 10 minutes away); there is snow up Rose Valley (maybe 10 minutes the opposite direction); there is snow up the Toutle (about 25 minutes away) … but no snow locally (in immediate vicinity; town).

Snow on the KM, early morning today.
7-inches of snow on Beaver Creek today; noon posting.

While I wait for the “ify” snow predicted; I’m going to snuggle under Bob’s comfy recliner blanket, drink peppermint flavored coffee (coffee is good for asthma – peppermint is good for my holiday mood 😉), and finish reading my last Christmas novel.

Coffee & Asthma: https://allergyasthmanetwork.org/news/coffee-and-asthma/

All three stories in the novel are based around a town named Mistletoe, Texas.

Last Christmas novel in my book cache.
Backstories.

It finally started snowing a little after 4 PM 😊

Big, FAT, fluffy flakes – I love a snowy Christmas ðŸ˜Š

SHABBAT BLESSINGS/Pt. 2 ~ Julia Butler Hansen Game Refuge

After I left Skamokawa Vista Park, I turned the Highlander towards the river hike at the Julia Butler Hansen Game Refuge. It was a good day for a relaxing walk.

I drove past the Redmen Hall along the short hop-skip-and jump to my destination.

Redmen Hall & Skamokawa Fair Dates; spur to Sleepy Hallow, Middle Valley, Skamokawa.

I hadn’t eaten anything yet, so I stopped at what used to be known as ‘Hoby’s Store’, and grabbed a 3 Musketeer Bar to munch while I walked. I planned on having lunch at the Duck Inn afterwards, so I didn’t want to eat anything filling just yet 😉

Used to be Hoby's Store; that is how I always think of it, doesn't matter what it is called today.
Where my bio-father's siblings lived in Skamokawa.
The old river tavern & brothel; revamped, but still a shady lady. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_4I-0U2I0qg)
New Business name.
Remodeled, and unrecognizable; no resemblance at all to the original design.

The kayak place used to be a riverfront tavern/brothel around the turn of the last century … and it was pretty dilapidated, and dangerous in places (missing floor boards, missing steps, rotten river piers, ect.) when I was a kid; we were all forbidden to be near it – but because it was forbidden, that’s where we all wanted to be; and where we were 😉

Thank the Lord, Elohim protected us in our youthful foolishness and rebellion.

A tree leaning heavily over the roadway made me nervous – but I drove under it anyway, staying ‘in the moment’: next time, I will drive in from the other end of the Refuge, and park by Hornstra’s Beach.

A leaning tree made me nervous driving under it ...

As I walked ... I thought about yesterday – and tried not to get too upset about the way the obamanites are ruining life at every turn with their tyrannical power-grabs, and maniacal mandates.

They may think they are gods … BUT Elohim STILL reigns; and HE decides what is best for my life – and gives me the freedom to move in any direction. I always chose His Way: Elohim has never failed me. Ever. His Way can be trusted 100%

I don’t have to understand it – I just have to trust Him, and have faith for the outcome. I’ve never been sorry that I trusted Him will all aspects of my life. I've only ever regretted running ahead of Him, and trying to outdistance His Plan.

I know people think I’m out of touch with reality: I don’t care what they think.

I know what I know.

I know my life is blessed.

I am content in whatever circumstance/situation I find my life in.

I do not need to know the future to enjoy life in the moment 😊

House selling & house hunting has been sidelined.
I'll just stay where I'm at.
Things could be worse.

Only an enormous ego believes it has the confidence to beat death. Nothing/nobody beats death – when it’s your time, the Grim Reaper comes calling: masks, 6-ft. distances, shut down mandates, or vaccine political hardball: everyone dies, no matter how hard they try to throw a 7 or an 11; political talking heads aiming for a winning run are only fooling themselves – and science “facts” drip from lying lips playing whore to political dogs.

The economy is in freefall … and biden is ‘on vacation’. {Vacation} from what! All the hellish mischief he and his obamanite hounds from Hell have stirred up for the past 5 years – more specifically, since the obamanite January 6th coup, with him as top billing ventriloquist talking head?

biden is ‘out to lunch’ on any day; but now, with the world in chaos – quickly moving towards war/wildfires with no end in sight, thanks to the deadhead ‘forest management’ MISmanagement/crisis at the southern border/and the economy in frenzied knots, thanks to the demonrat power grabs … he decides he needs a vacation.

That obamanite moron needs to be dethroned, and a REAL President (the one actually voted for) sworn in, before obama and his delusional talking heads seriously destroy America – and the lives of Americans.

Yet, despite our nation’s dire circumstances, Elohei blesses those who put their trust in Him.

There is nothing new under the sun: what is happening as happened time and time again throughout the History of mankind.

I really have a good life - Bob provided well for me.
Thankful for the life I have been blessed to enjoy.
I saw a ship in the distance; it was moving right along, at a pretty good clip ...

I took my time enjoying life as it unfolded, as I walked the trail.

The hike was restorative.

The temperature was a nice 73-degrees along the river.

The early morning dream that had jolted me awake with tears, had evaporated as the day progressed.

My God is a good God.

I was enjoying a Shabbat of remembered blessing.

I was enjoying a Shabbat of unfolding blessing.

My heart, and steps, were light 😊

A swallowtail Butterfly.
The soft sounds of frogs along the river; frogs can whistle, croak, ribbit, peep, cluck, bark, and grunt: this afternoon, they softly peeped and trilled.
Turkey buzzards.
Turkey buzzards are 2-toned brown, with a red head.
The ship was making good time as I dawdled.
The hazy gray sky seemed ominous with all those buzzards flapping around ...
Roosting buzzards were kinda creepy - I kept reminding myself they are important in the grand scheme of things.
The ship caught up with me at the end of the short trail.
Delicate white blooms of the Arrowhead plant (aka; Duck Potato plant).
Bird sounds.
Another ship! This one headed downriver, to the ocean.
Ship sounding its horn.

I saw a black heron fly over my head – but it was too fast to get a picture!

Internet picture because my black heron was too fast ...

I didn’t even know there was such a bird 😉

I moseyed along, enjoying the sights and sounds of river wildlife: yellow, and white butterflies darting here and there, and winged grasshoppers taking to the breeze when I got to close to them. Trilling frogs, chirping birds, and honking ships: it was a nice summer walk 😊

When the Refuge hike was finished, I stopped at the Duck Inn for a bite to eat before heading back to Longview.

As I started to sit at a booth, I noticed a familiar face a table ahead of me; it was Mary Johnson-Baldwin. We got up at the same time, and hugged each other, and engaged in a good, short visit – catching up on our lives since we last saw each other (1975, at my baby shower 😉): I’m glad we ran into each other.

I felt blessed.

I love Mary – she is a good person to know.

I spent most of my early teen summers at her house in Middle Valley, Skamokawa.

Lunch (1/2) & Supper (1/2); Duck Inn Restaurant.
