Yesterday evening, I ended a cherished friendship because of that mindset: I don’t know what version of the riotous protests she THINKS “is peaceful” – or what she thinks her son is relaying to her about “peaceful protests in Seattle” … but every view I’ve seen of the protests have led to violent rioting and cruel bullying tactics.

And, of course, if I dare to disagree with her, I am “stressing her out”; she would never consider for a second that she is stressing herself out by staying glued to the TV and listening to race-baiter media hosts.

I don’t want – or need – that kind of mindset around me.
