A BLESSED DAY

What a day! The blessings just came … following one after the other: it was like I’d won the lottery 😉

I was dressed and outside bright and early, getting the car washed; as soon as it was considerate to be outside making noise – I was 😊

Car washing day ...

Then, having finally saved enough $$$$ to reorder the same glasses I smashed to pieces, six weeks ago; I drove into town to get that order placed, and got a real nice surprise: the girl said that since they were practically brand new (I got them in May) when I broke them, she would “just warranty them out, and it won’t cost you a thing to have them replaced.”

((((THANK YOU, FATHER!))))

So, I put half of what I’d diligently saved, into savings … and kept the other half for gas money – and grocery/miscellaneous money.

Ordered my new glasses – again (the exact same style) – and then I was off to Warrenton-OR, to go shopping!
My glasses will be replaced for FREE!
Blessings are good.

I drove to Warrenton, Oregon. No particular reason other than I haven’t been there since last summer, and this summer is practically gone: so, I went because it’s a nice drive, and the Mall Complex there is fun to kick around in 😊

While I was store hopping, I bought some bottles and teething rings to tuck into the boxes I'm preparing for the Caring Pregnancy Center; and I saw that there were several pairs of colorful jeggings in just the colors I have been hoping to find. So, I bought them – half of them were on sale. When I bought my first few pairs of jeggings, I wasn’t very happy that that was all the stores were stocking during the covid lockdown hysteria … but after wearing them for a year-and-a-half, I find that I like them better than regular, straight-leg-jeans. They’re comfy; and I don’t look frumpy in them. Some people may wonder why I wear them with the curvaceous shape I have, but I dress for me: if their eyes are offended, they can look elsewhere.

I’ve got curves front and back, and the loose clothes I wore in the past made me look shorter and fatter than I actually am. MPO is that body-hugging/stretch jeggings seem to have a slimming effect on curvy women; especially petite ones, like myself. Regular leg, regular cut straight-leg pants are not my friends.

I also snagged a handful of mascaras I’ve been looking high and low for, for years 😉 Again, people may wonder ‘why?’ … but I don’t care. I dress for me, and I like the colors.

After my laps around the Warrenton Mall Complex, I decided to try a new Thai food restaurant. I heard about it last year, but never found the time to make time to visit it – this afternoon, I made time 😉

What a treat! The pineapple rice is delicious … and it tastes like it’s been charred. SO GOOD! I ate two fried spring rolls, and half the pineapple rice before the ‘crying tiger’ dish arrived; so, I asked that to be boxed up – and I’ll have it for Supper tomorrow.

Learning my way around ...
Something NEW ðŸ˜Š Nisa’s Thai Kitchen, in Warrenton-OR. A definite repeat!
Thai Fried Spring Rolls, Thai Tea, and Pineapple Fried Rice - SO GOOD!
'Crying Tiger' dish; marinaded steak with Special House Sauce - tomorrow's Supper.

I also stopped at a thrift store on my way home to grab some costume jewelry. I can’t have metal on my skin. Elohim was gracious and merciful when it came to wearing my wedding ring; but wearing glasses can get tricky when the metal arm hinges touch my skin – there have been times when removing my glasses also removed a patch of skin along the sides of my face: the metal acts like acid on my skin, and literally peels skin away when the metal is lifted off my face, neck, wrist, or earlobes (I eventually just let my ear piercings grow back solid); I had spendy solid gold ear studs on my earrings, but my ears still swelled up, oozed, and peeled … if I risked wearing them on the few occasions we went out after becoming parents (I wasn’t keen on babysitters for our daughter), Bob would end up carrying them home in his shirt pocket. My body just can’t tolerate metals on, or in, it

I found some nice-looking bracelets, and a necklace with a sliding leather neck band.

I can’t wait to start wearing everything I purchased! I’m on the downside of 60, and 70 is coming up fast – I am going to be outrageously colorful as long as I carry it off.

I like color in my life. Lots of it.

ALL the colors I have prayed to find! Thank You, Lord!
No metal, & very colorful ...
This chunky necklace has a slip-cord to loosen, or tighten, the necklace.

My day today – from start to finish – was truly blessed.

ILLUSIVE JEANS SNAGGED

I had breakfast with a friend this morning; then I zipped over to Dick Hannah’s to have the Highlander’s back end and right back tire checked – the other afternoon; in Oregon, on the stretch of roadway between Astoria and Svenson, a moron in a jacked-up pickup literally ran me off the road … and I hit the shoulder at road speed, bumping into and over a ragged pothole.

MPO is that Oregon driver’s are the worst driver’s on the planet.

They are mean spirited.

They are self-centered.

They are rude.

They are obnoxious.

They are very aggressive.

They are stoned 24/7/365.

I really do not like Oregon driver’s.

I heard the Highlander’s backend bounce as the dust settled. When I crossed the bridge at Rainier, and set down in Longview – I drove to Dick Hannah’s Toyota Shop to have the car and tire checked: the pothole was pretty ragged and I worried I may have skinned the tire on the sharp edges. I was told by a stuffy attendant I’d have to bring the car in for a checkup in the morning, at 10 AM., because “it could take hours to check out.”

Matt checked it over – and gave it a good report: no damages. And, he refilled the windshield wiper fluid. I was relieved it did not “take hours” – I was in and out in half an hour.

And I decided that I’d make another trip to Warrenton, instead of waiting until next Monday. I’m no good at putting things off … if something needs doing, I just want to get it done so I can move onto other things that also need doing.

So, off I went.

Making my way across town to the bridge that would drop me on the Oregon side, I saw a VW Bug tricked out in a woman’s obsessive fantasy.

She had had her VW Bug painted to match dalmatian dogs – and the nose of the car was painted to mimic a red dog collar.

What an amazing sight …

Her car seat covers were dalmatian print.

Her back window was filled with stuffed dalmatians.

SHE HAD 2 DALMATIAN DOGS in the back seat!

I got the feeling she really, REALLY liked the 101 Dalmatians movie 😉

Warrenton from Longview is a little over an hour away, and I didn’t plan on staying any longer than it took to return the clothes that didn’t fit/replace them or take the $$ and run; I wanted to make this my last trip to Warrenton, until I pass through there in July sometime.

Clothes returned to Warrenton - OR, again.
Warrenton, OR from Longview, WA - 1 hr.11 mins.
Bob & Aza feeding the seals at Seaside. 2017; Aza barked with the seals, who were barking for fish tidbits. It was hilarious.
Seaside, OR from Longview, WA - 1 hr.23 mins.

I had returns for two different stores.

I had just about given up any hope of ever finding regular jeans … and then, I spotted them 😊

2 pairs of jeans: actual jeans, not the ‘jeggings’ (stretchy cigarette leg jeans that fit like leggings).

I found 2 pairs of jeans! Hallelujah ...

I snapped them up and headed the car towards home 😉

The temperature had soared to 83-degrees by 4 PM.

I just wanted to be home.

The 3 trips to Warrenton – practically back-to-back – was giving me road fatigue.

So, I was happy to catch sight of Mt. St. Helen’s, the Port of Longview, and home base; coming into Rainier.

Even though Mt. St. Helen’s is now lopsided, she still beckons.

When I got home, I watered the garden area as well as my geranium pots under the carport; rain is forecast for tomorrow (50%), but the humidity today was very drying, so I gave everything a drink of water to stave off heat stroke until tomorrow arrives.

And I noticed that the yellow tea rose bush Bob bought for me as a gift 20 years ago, is blooming this week.

I am glad – it is a living link to Bob.

When I see it, I smile all over.

The Tea Rose Bob gave me 20 years ago is still thriving; and blooming this week.

2 STATE LOOP DRIVE

When I saw the sign Thursday, I wasn’t sure I’d check the Bazaar out.

I caught sight of this sign pulling out of the gas terminal at Napavine, Thursday.

When I woke up this morning … I knew I’d be driving back that way.

I want to experience as much as I can, when I can – while I have the ability to do so. I’m retired; and the only obligations I have anymore, are to myself.

But I drove a different ‘loop route’, today 😉

Delameter Road from Heron Pointe - 16 mins.
Vader from Delameter Road - 20 mins.
Adna from Vader - 30 mins.

The drive was enjoyable.

Free & Easy Down the Road I Go: (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=erqMKaSbI-U)

The GPS was accurate; the Grange was located on a road just before the Adna Floral Sale location 😊

The Adna Grange; I have never been here before - this is something new.

The Grange is pretty small – as far as Granges go (most are so large they echo even when packed), and the vendors were friendly and talkative.

The Bazaar is something new for the Grange, too.

I am craftsy myself, so I didn’t really need/want most of what was on display; but I did make a couple purchases: for exactly $1 EA.

My $2 haul.

Leaving Adna, I caught sight of another road sign advertising am Estate Sale … so, I punched the address into the GPS, and followed the road 😉

I spent $6 there.

Another small haul.

Today I was not a big spender; hahaha.

When I left Adna, I decided to drive a loop route home through Naselle.

Just ‘because’.

Naselle from Adna - 1 hr.37 mins.

Coming into Naselle from the Raymond/Longbeach junction, ‘Warrenton’ popped into my thoughts … so, I thought, ‘why not?’ – and turned left.

Decision to drive to Warrenton, OR.; Solo Lobo.
Warrenton, OR from Naselle, WA - 26 mins.
Just a spur of the moment thing.

Turning left meant driving across that hulking nemesis, known a ‘the Astoria-Megler Bridge’: I hate crossing that thing.

The winter slide area: more towards Naselle than Longbeach; the road is open, so Warrenton was a 'GO'.
The slide area is actually quite a way from Dismal Nitch.
This Rest Area Stop is where Lewis & Clark camped on their Westward exploration.
Dismal Nitch from Naselle - 12 mins.
Facing my nemesis - I do not like the Astoria-Megler Bridge. The bridge is very near the Dismal Nitch Rest Area.

But, to get to Warrenton from the Washington side of the Columba River, it has to be faced and crossed.

I’d have to cross a smaller and shorter bridge too, to get to Warrenton once I touched down in Astoria, Oregon …

Crossing the short bridge into Warrenton.

…. but it’s only the Astoria-Meglar Bridge that freaks me out – that thing is very high, very looooong, and very busy.

Every time I cross it, I pray to God I do not get stuck in traffic at the very top of it.

Elohim has been merciful now that I am solo lobo – may He always be so gracious.

Time spent in Warrenton was fun.

And more than a little bittersweet: I’ve ever only been there with Bob.

And only to his Uncle Cliff’s home … never further than that – except in passing through to fetch/take home our first granddaughter when she’d come spend some time with us.

Warrenton was another ‘something new’.

Warrenton exploration unfolded without a hitch - but, fledging is a little apprehensive.

And it happened without tears.

Things are balancing out, and I'm getting back to my gutsy self.

Warrenton may be a repeat thing 😉

Every Storm Runs Out of Rain (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zIbuXTgextU)

And when I got back home, there was a surprise waiting for me 😊

Heron Pointe, WA from Warrenton, OR - 1 hr.15 mins.

A May Day Flower Bouquet was hanging on the front porch door knob.

A nice surprise!
The flowers were fresh cut, so I placed them in a small jar of water on the kitchen window sill; I will see it all day long.

I’m pretty sure I know who made it/left it for me.

He’s a 6-year-old cutie 😉

It’s refreshing to know that some kids still know how to feel love, and be an example of kindness … while the {adults} in today’s society are fueled by bitter hatred, and raise hell at every opportunity.

There was news on the radio all day about the continuing blm-antifa chaos in Portland and Seattle.

There was news on the radio about the continuing biden lunacy; and the obamanite DC chaos.

I’m just done with all of it.

I had a great day.

I am ‘becoming’; and my unfurling gossamer wings are strengthening.

I wake up every morning determined to live the life Elohei gave me to the best of my ability – unimpeded, and to our satisfaction.

I have no trouble at all in sleeping, once my head touches my pillow 😊
