FINDING JOY IN THE MUNDANE

It was just an ordinary day.

All of my days, lately, seem to move into another without much fanfare.

I showered; padded down the hallway … turned the radio on, put 8 eggs on the stove to hard-boil … and changed the color of my nail polish before getting back to work on my mitt’s design, started yesterday:

Beginning Mitt's Body; I am using scrap yarn ... if these turn out as expected, I will make some for the 2021 Bazaar Season with new yarn 😉

I hope to have them completed tomorrow 😊.

Normally, I would work on them straight through the night if need be to get them done (new original designs always gets me too excited to knock off work early in the crafting process) – but my leg is still not 100%, and I need to pace myself a little wiser so I don’t screw up my healing process.

So, now, I sit and work on my design for an hour … then, I get up and move around for a bit to relieve that sciatic nerve and keep my leg/foot from cramping.

I hope I can get out walking at some point during the upcoming week, when the rain slacks off. I am glad to be losing weight (and noticeably, too), but I need to tone my thighs. It will take time to work back up to the milage I was walking before my leg went bum, but I’m slowly working back into my walking routine.

In this also, I am learning to pace myself.

I am not used to being reined in … so it’s another ‘adjustment’.

Anyway …

I was listening to the radio, working my design out and jotting notations down as the work progressed; when a particular song came on and my thoughts took me to a place in time, when every once in a while, Bob would come dancing into the room – grinning, and wiggling his eyebrows at me … and I join him while we laughed and cavorted with each other to the backbeat of the music filling our surroundings.

I really miss those spontaneous moments.

And I knew I couldn’t entertain those thoughts too long without being sucked under.

This was a good time to stop where I was in my unfolding design, until tomorrow.

I also had to shell the hard-boiled eggs and put them in the ‘fridge.

Mitt's Forefinger Hole. MOD
Hard Boiled eggs.

And wouldn’t you know it: when I logged into FB … someone had posted a video of a couple dancing in their living room!

Obviously, I was not going to be able to get away from those triggered memories; so, I just rode the wave until it played itself out.

I am grateful for the memories: I was loved, and loved deeply by a good man who was faithful to me and our marriage.

I had joy … I still have joy.

I am grateful I am finding enjoyment in designing/crafting, again.

Designing and crafting brings me joy.

I don’t need a lot to have a happy life 😉

INSPIRATION

Tentative plans were made weeks ago to go walking with my SIL after Christmas – that time is quickly approaching.

It will be chilly, if not downright cold … so I will need to make a new pair of mitts: I woke up this morning with a semi-formulated design in the forefront of my thoughts.

This is an exciting development!

I haven’t had any real enthusiasm for creative designing in a while; so, this want to get busy with this formulating design is encouraging 😊

In my life ‘before’; I could literally get lost in drafting and crafting my designs, for hours on end.

And Bob was a good sport about it.

He also knew that once the creative aspect of the design was in play, my thoughts would stay locked on the design’s concept until I was satisfied with how I was bringing it into being – I would be basically worthless at anything else until the urge to “get it right” was worked out.

Bob knew how to fend for himself; he didn’t marry me so he would have someone to take care of him – he knew how to cook, clean, sew, do laundry, clothe himself, ect.

So, if I was deeply engrossed in bringing one of my crafty designs to life, he left me to it; until I reached the place during development, I felt I could knock off for a while before getting back to it.

Then, there were times, he’d come to where I was working, and gently say, “There you are – I miss you.” And I would look up, and if I was at a point where I could safely stop without losing track of the design concept, I’d smile and say, “I’ll be right with you.” I’d put things away for the night and we’d watch a movie together, or work together on the jigsaw puzzle we had set up on the table; holding hands and talking about everything/nothing … the way lovers do. We were sharing our lives with each other – that was enough. And sometimes, he’d track me down, and I’d still be working the concept of my design out; and I’d beg for a few minutes more before putting it aside and joining him.

I miss those times.

This morning, when my feet hit the floor, I thumbed through my pattern books until I found a foundational pattern for what I had in mind: I will tweak the original pattern to design what I have in mind. Then I sorted through my yarn stash to find the colors that would work (I will be using 3 different colors); then I made a cup of coffee and got busy.

When I opened the pattern book, I had to take a few deep breaths before I did anything else: tucked inside the pages were the 2 hand forms I had traced of Bob’s hands …

Hand forms I made of Bob's hands for knitted mitts.

… which I had used to make him a pair of winter mitts for our walk with Precious (our beautiful wolf) at Riverside Park in Lexington. With my eyes wide open, staring at those posterboard forms, I could see Bob so clearly walking the trail with Precious and me.

2006 - October. Bob & Precious watching the new bridge get built in Lexington that would acess the freeway.

I quickly put the hand forms out of sight before they sabotaged my current mitt plans. People think I sit around all day/every day dwelling on my life with Bob … but, that is not true: I am actually actively moving forward in reshaping and building a new life – but it is impossible for Bob not to be part of that: his memory in everywhere, and in everything.

I got up and turned the radio on; and took a big gulp of my coffee.

Then I refocused and got busy.

Beginning my inspired design ... mitts’ cuffs.

I still can’t sit for extended lengths of time, but I got further than I thought I would when I started 😉

Where I left off tonight - I'll pick up here tomorrow.

Tomorrow, I will be deviating from the foundational pattern, and working on the actual design I have been inspired to work out – if my design concept goes as planned, I am going to be very happy with the outcome.

RACE-BASED VACCINE

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention had now decided that "old people, ARE TOO WHITE TO SAVE".

And the pagan generation X's, & millennials have decided that Christians are a cancer that needs to be eradicated.

Thank God, I am not afraid to die ...

I will not take the vaccine anyway, for personal reasons; but knowing that my life has been considered worthless based on skin color alone - had I wanted the poisoned injection - vindicates what I have been saying since 2009.

I've been ready to go Home since I joined my life with Elohei in 1965: Bob was what kept me Earthbound. Now, Bob is in Heaven, and there is nothing to keep me tethered to Earth anymore - and if the obama-clinton-biden-pelosi-harris cartel want to kill me; I embrace that.

I am not suicidal, but neither am I afraid of death.

The generation X's, & millennials have already determined that babies have no right to live (shameless and godless political leaders even siding with demands unwanted babies be left to die after birth) ... now the generation X's, & millennials have decided that their elderly parent's and grandparent's should be terminated also - BUT ONLY IF THEY ARE WHITE.

Sadly, some of my siblings, children and grandchildren are of this wicked mindset.

They are 'ridin' with biden' and freakshow agenda.

It will not matter that my DNA is not truly "white" - my light olive tone skin color is what they see: the blood flowing through my veins that carries linkage to Native American, Sephardi, Ashkenazi, and African is not seen with the naked racist and hate-filled eye.

I am a life-long Christian.

I am an elderly woman - I'll be 64 this month.

I am light skinned.

I am abandoned by those I gave life to.

I am considered a drain on society - by society, and shamefully, by those also that carry my blood in their veins.

The insanity that is running rampant on Earth can only have my body IF Elohim WILLS it: all they will be doing is changing my Address

And that's okay with me.

I KNOW where I'll be going - and who will be waiting for me, with open arms

TIMELY

About a month ago, when my leg started misbehaving, I determined to find ways to deal with the thing organically and holistically … and I set goals for a timely recovery.

I am healing nicely, and the goals are on target 😉

Last night we had power surges during the rainy downfall, so I shut the laptop down and chose a new book to read 😊

Familiar author – new read.

When Bob was still working before retirement, he brought a book home in his lunch pail one morning when his shift ended: I was curious and read the back storyline while repacking his lunch pail for his night shift.

I was intrigued.

Bob turned me onto Clive Cussler books a decade ago ... I was hooked with the first book.
Spending the night with Clive is a pleasure. LOL

This morning I woke up feeling refreshed and motivated, so I got dressed and drove to Baker’s Corner where I grabbed a Breakfast Burger (I was really after the Breakfast Casserole, but that was gone already) and a Vanilla Coke, and drove to Willow Grove.

I am not going to allow myself to become limited by what some consider a handicap.

As long as I am capable of being actively mobile … I intend to be actively mobile.

I had planned to walk the upper end of the dike for my first day out and about, but after reading several chapters of Clive’s book last night: the river walk seemed more fitting.

Plus, Willow Grove is closer – if I got a sciatic pinch in my hip/thigh; or an arthritic shin cramp (which feels like a burning charley horse when it sets in), getting home to lie down and calm it all down, would be quicker … and safer; being only 8 minutes away from my driveway.

I tend to push the envelope every chance I get; but I am no fool.

I don’t play fast and loose with my life, or my body: even if some think I do.

Bob was the daredevil of the family.

I’m more of the mindset to take things easy, let healing set in, test the boundaries … then step out lightly and carefully before going full throttle.

So today, I tested the boundaries; setting out lightly and carefully 😉

I chose Willow Grove for my walk because I am reading a book about ships ...
A half a mile walk will suffice for my 1st day out.
Windy ... but almost balmy in temperature.
2 ships anchored - waiting for Port admittance further upriver.
A seagull sitting on a wave break post.
Half a mile in half an hour.

When I got back home, I tried to upload the pics/vids I took during my morning walk … and was frustrated when they were rerouted to another section of the laptop innards I can’t decipher.

This would not be an issue with Bob.

I am not Bob: it was an issue.

I shot off a pissed text to my granddaughter, asking her if she knew of a way to untangle the updated mess Microsoft and Apple had tossed me; she was working, but she did get back to me when she could ... and I am able to post my pics/vids again.

In the meantime, as I was waiting and fuming; I was sitting in Bob’s recliner (it felt so good! I have not been able to sit in it for a month because sitting was painful) contemplating the frustration … when I happened to glance out the window and saw a ‘hang 5’ toggle cloud gently glide by, high in the sky.

Even now, Bob is STILL my greatest cheerleader! Thanks Babe ~ OX

I laughed.

Bob’s loving comfort always comes through in timely methods.

I swear Bob was riding the clouds and seeing my fierce eyes, decided to shoot me some loving encouragement.

This is not the first time he has given me signs he is near (hang 5 toggle clouds, and clouds parting overhead in a heart shaped opening; finding heart-shaped rocks): they always appear when I need comfort.

I am comforted.

And I do not think this comforting is at odds with our Christian Faith.

I never put my love for Bob, over Elohei.

I do not – nor have I ever, idolized Bob.

I believe Elohim is okay with the signs.

In Elohei, live and breathe; and have my being.

I trust my life 100% to Elohim.

Yeshua is my Husband, now.

I am stepping out, and settling up, in my new life: with that mindset.

I am able to do what I can do in the moment because I walk by Faith, knowing Elohim has everything under control and has only good things in store for my life.

Today was an excellent start in a timely mode.

SETTLING UP

Today was a very good day.

I woke up feeling good.

I was able to leave the bedroom and walk loose and easy the better part of the day 😊.

I was able to sit at the table to eat a bowl of hot breakfast cereal.

I was able to sit longer; I polished my fingernails.

I listened to the radio while polishing my nails and watching the rain fall outside the livingroom windows.

I could have listened to the Christmas CD’s, but I wanted to listen to the local DJ’s chatter 😉.

I was able to play a few games of solitaire while drinking a cup of coffee.

I was able to coat the bottoms of knitted house slippers; so the stone floors in the kitchen, don’t destroy the soles.

And I’m planning on upping the game: getting out of the house soon, for a short walk along the upper end of the dike hike 😉.
