I cleaned house today – windows, window sills, countertops, ect. And
I repotted a petunia and set it on the front porch with the potted geraniums:
As I was wetting the soil, I felt a rock and was setting it aside –
when I noticed the shape: A HEART.
Another one!
Finding heart shaped rocks always makes me smile: I’ve found 5
since Bob entered the Pearly Gates 17 months ago …
I’ve had a stone hearts collection for 17 years; adding to it
periodically when new ones appear. I found the first stone heart when Bob &
I were walking along the Cowlitz River with our granddaughter, Alyna, and our
wolf, Precious. Alyna was 8 years old at the time – Precious was 6 months old; and
already 6 feet in length, weighing in at 100 pounds. Precious got foot cancer 5½
years ago, and I had to put her down. Sitting with Precious when she took her
last breath was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do – aside from sitting
death watch at Bob’s side 22 months ago.
I'm sure Bob & Precious are walking together again:
Precious – half timber wolf, half gray wolf. Pure preciousness.
Bob & Precious.
The stone heart that started the collection. It’s the largest, and the prettiest one too ;-)
7 count; so far - on the kitchen windowsill where they are seen quite a bit throughout the days. Reminders of love and faithfulness.
Elohim never gathers loved ones to Him without sending love back.
When Precious went Home, our family was blessed with a grandson. Azariah will
be 6 years old the end of this month.
I don’t know how my life will be blessed since Bob went Home beyond
the clouds; I hope I recognize Elohim’s gift and accept it graciously. Nothing
can ever replace Bob, but I know whatever Elohim has planned for my life will
be a true blessing. Just like Bob was, for 44 years.
Meanwhile, the love comes to me in stone heart findings :-D
I also finished up the ribbed slippers I made earlier this week – I
knitted them using Homespun worsted yarn, and put a heavy protective puff paint
finish on the soles because the stone floors in the kitchen will tear the
bottoms out of the slippers in no time flat if I don’t coat them with the puff paint
finish.
These slippers make up quick, and easy …
2-Needle Ribbed Slippers. Homespun worsted. Knit.
Puff paint sole coating; I put it on pretty thick because the yarn is nubby and I don’t want it to snag on the rough stone flooring.
Stone hearts and
ribbed slippers.
If I can’t have Bob, I’ll appreciate these small blessings. The
stone hearts are like little reminders of unbreakable love showing up ;-)
