WHAT ARE WE BUSY ABOUT

Holland drove into Rainier this morning to get the pickup windows tinted - and he was also able to get the running boards on :-)

I stayed home with Bleu.

Holland's text from Rainier.

We are busy about getting everything accomplished for our road gypsy life before leaving the PNW. This is taking longer than anticipated due to scheduling's.

I think I am the most impatient of the two of us.

I'm 66-1/2 … I don't have a whole lot of time to sit around waiting for other people to 'get with the program'.

This white bird wants to spread her wings, and fly!

Lenny Kravitz - 'Fly Away' song:

Holland was back home around noon … and couldn't wait to show me what had been done to the pickup, in prep for our southern states adventures :-)

Sun Visor Shade Strip; front windows were darkened as legally dark as possible.
Back window & 2 side windows are black tinted - 'limousine black'; we can see out, but no one can see in.
Exterior 'limousine black'.
Running Boards for my short legs - THANK YOU, HUSBAND.

Then, he jumped on the phone and called his doctor's office for an appointment asap, to talk to her about his pain meds - he wants off them as quickly as possible … and he doesn't want to be driving back here every two months to deal with distribution nonsense (there is no logical reason why they cannot be mailed to him at any pharmacy in the USA!).

And he rigged the sewer drain 'Y'; now things will be easier in that aspect.

Sewer Hose 'Y' to hook both bathrooms to one drain; no more running back and forth.

Little, by little, things are coming together :-)

And that's a good thing, because around Supper time the Park Owner knocked on our front door and made a big issue out of Bleu doing his business on the grass we have bought for a  month: she wants me to start taking him into the woods out back, to do his daily business :-(

Holland immediately said"No - that is not going to be happening; you are not going to be hiking into the woods at night."

I have 4 packages of 5 ct. doggie-bags, and a handy-dandy-pooper-scooper; that I use to clean up after him - but she doesn't want him using the grass at all.

So, we may be pulling stakes here and finding another place to park, where the host is not ridiculous. I mean … there are piles of rabbit poop everywhere, and she's making a big deal out of a small dog (the rabbit poop is never scooped up - and we are expected to walk around those piles!).

She even went so far as to suggest we feed our dog "something not so rich, so he doesn't poop so much."

That is not okay.

Her 250 rabbits, rooster, and donkey are pooping nonstop … all over the place!!! We are in a country farm setting, for Pete's sake - and we like that. But her attitude tonight was ridiculous.

Rabbit poop carries toxins that can harm dogs; I'm always leading Bleu away form the acidic pebbly piles, which are easy to spot because the grass is brown where rabbits have relieved themselves.

Holland saw my eyes get smoky while she was yapping - and after she left, he said, "I'm proud of you, Baby." I was proud of me: I didn't say a single word out loud, but my eyes were shooting sparks.

Until tonight, we thought everything was going well here - despite her german shepherds going berserk every night, around midnight.

We paid her $900 for 5 weeks of her space … not for her manic opinions. We agreed to 99% of her rigid rules, but we cannot demand Bleu hold his urine or poop for the next 4 weeks; and Holland is not going to let me traipse into the woods after sundown.

It's a ridiculous request.

We need to be boondocking a.s.a.p.

If not for the doctor appts., we wouldn't even be dealing with people; we'd be off in the wild someplace detoxing from people in general.

WE GOT CONTACT!

May 24th: Yesterday, we got our own WiFi internet connect.

We also got a new coffee pot - I am a happy camper, this morning :-)

Full-time-WIFI; (((YAY)))!!!

Bleu woke me up at the crack of dawn this morning; then came back inside and promptly laid in front of the bedroom door through 2 cups of coffee … jumping to his feet, and quivering with excitement when Holland finally woke up.

Waiting for Daddy to wake up.

I enjoyed a third cup of joy juice while Holland finished off two: then, we were off to find a hardware store for a cabinet lock - we'd brought two home with us from Home Depot the other day while we were Longview, but they wouldn't work ;-(

I'm wondering how long it will take …

When Holland came out of the store with a lock in handwith a lock and said, "I think you'll like this, Baby." I said, "It's perfect. A road jolt won't cause that latch to slip." It is perfect, & it's what I asked for: our RV home dΓ©cor is farmhouse, complete with sliding farmhouse doors - this latch fits this country girl's lifestyle :-)

On our way home, we checked out the small county Park; and dropped off the cardboard boxes I'd emptied last night setting up our home.

When we got home, I took Bleu for a walk. Joanne (the RV Park Owner) had told us about her goats - and I'd promised Bleu a walk (to burn off puppy energy) … a walk past the goat pen would do the trick ;-)

Seeing the goats made me think of a cartoon a friend has posted on her FB Page. I was laughing as we walked back to our parked RV.

Hayfield.
The 'trail' was a wide cut swath from the mower. But it was a nice, lazy walk.
Bleu LOVES the creek.
He didn't know what to make of the goat pen.
Anglo-Nubian Goats; Brown in forefront - Black in background; all the kids are brown.
This is a working Farm-RV Park.

While Bleu and I were walking about outside, Holland had put the lock on my bath cabinet - and I LIKE IT :-)

Holland would have preferred something a little more upscale, but this RV is our home, not a magazine photo layout; and when we are on the move again, I will feel confident that this latch will hold the cabinet closed: I assured Holland again that "I LIKE IT."

This lock will STAY LOCKED. Thank you, Husband.

Later, I checked my FB Page, and saw this info about ticks and pets. I didn't know this; but I'm glad to know it, now.

I will be checking Bleu more thoroughly from now on.

ICK! Thanks Crystal for the noteworthy post about ticks and pets.

CLATSKANIE-OR~RV Outdoor Adventures & Cabins

May 19th: (((YES)))!

We booked an RV Space for 5 weeks :-)

That will give us time to do what needs doing … and plenty of time to engage in free & easy newlywed time (we haven't had much of that) ;-)

When we reached Clatskanie - and followed directions to 'RV Outdoor Adventures' … I liked the concept of being in the country :-)

We crossed over a wooden bridge, and onto a gravel roadway.

I saw rabbits chewing on grass alongside the gravel road.

I saw a sign warning drivers to drive slowly because of bunny activity.

Rabbits; I assumed they were wild rabbits.
It's a nice, rural setting - literally a back field. PERFECT!
Who are you & what are you doing here; this bunny seemed cantankerous.
Very eye-catching.
There were rabbits everywhere; the RV Park Owner had brought them in, and set them loose.

The Park Owner was friendly. She was helpful.

But she wanted cash (no card service), and she wanted proof of RV Insurance … which we had purchased … but we had not yet received it in the mail; Holland had a printout on his cell phone - but, his phone would not sync to hers.

So, we had to drive all the way back to our Longview Bank, to get cash; and since we were already that way, we decided to stop by the Rainier Insurance Office for a print-out, on our way back to the RV site.

All these {legalities} complications to cover the Park Owner's hind-end, was shaving hours off a busy day that we couldn't afford: like I mentioned before … until we get things set in place we will need for boondocking, we are dependent on other people's whims & demands.

How did such a simple life goal get so freaking complicated????

I can't wait until we can skip all this 'legalities' crap - and start our solitary boondocking adventures.
Back to Rainier to collect 'proof of Insurance' …

Back at the RV site - and having satisfied the Owner … Holland rested, and Bleu and I went for a short hike. The atmosphere was very relaxed. The background sounds are definite country sounds: a braying donkey, a crowing rooster, quacking ducks, and bleating goats. The RV sites are on the backend of a working farm.

That's okay with me- I like country life :-)

More rabbits by the hiking trail near the creek.
Pacific bleeding-heart (Dicentra Formosa); heart shaped flowers.
Blue Columbine.
A reminder of our place in the Universe.
A hiking trail … there are several around the Park premises.
The creek.
Deer tracks.
Bleu is enjoying himself here …
A tent site; I like the way it's arranged.
There are nice Cabins on the upper level of the camp ground.
An interesting bench - the wood slab is bolted to the boulders.
Very LARGE conks.
The Restrooms are on the lower section of the campground.
Our space; we bought the bikes 2 days ago - they will be fitted with electric motors on the wheels.

Nothing was retrieved from the Longview Storage Unit - which had been the main goal of our day, when we woke up that morning!

It had been a long & tiring day, with very little getting accomplished :-(

However, Bleu had worn himself out exploring the grounds … and that meant we got to sleep through the night :-)

Bleu is totally worn out; we will get peaceful sleep tonight. LOL

And we have the site for 5 weeks.

We are retired - Holland is learning to be a relaxed retiree.

We are still newlyweds; nothing has to be rushed.
