My life has changed so much since December 2018. I remarried January 7th, 2023 ... we sold the house, sold our vehicles - and bought a new 4x, a puppy, & a 5th Wheel to travel the mainland States and experience life in the slow lane. CROCHET BABY HAT/MITT SET – Infant
I am still working my way through my 'bottomless' yarn
stash ;-)
With the Bazaar Season slowly sneaking up on
me, I reached for my baby yarn and made this little hat up last night, and the
mitts today. It’s a very nice baby boy set:
0-3 MO Infant Hat/Mitts. $15 Trio
These patterns are not my own designs. The
pattern for the mitts comes from an old 1980’s Crochet Omnibook magazine; the hat pattern from a 1988 Workbasket pocket magazine.
Infant Crocheted Thumbless Mittens
*NB (smaller size shown above) & 0-3 MO size (larger size shown above) are worked with size E crochet hook using the
written directions as stated.
Size: 6 Mo to 1 YR
MATERIALS: Sizes E & F crochet
hook
1 oz. 3-ply baby yarn or
3-ply sport weight yarn
NOTE: Written for smaller size – larger
size in (). Work all sts in back loop of sts of previous row.
Gauge: 5 sts = 1 inch; 6 rows = 1 inch
ROW 1: Ch 42 sts (58).
Beginning in 2nd ch from hook, sc
in 5 (6) ch - sc; sl st in 4 (5) ch – sc; sc in 9 (15) ch – sc; sl st in 5 (5)
ch – sc; sc in 9 (15) ch – sc; sl st in 4 (5) ch – sc; sc in 5 (6) ch (sc. Ch 1
& turn.
Row 2: Repeat Row 1.
Continue to repeat Row 1 until 10 (14) rows
have been completed from beginning.
Fold Mitten in half and sl st both sides of
mitten. Darn in loose ends.
Make a second mitten to match.
IF YOU WISH A TIE, use double yarn and ch st a length to measure 30 (36) inches long. Sew to cuffs
of mittens.

Hat
This crocheted stocking hat can be made for
premature, NB and 3 – 6 MO old babies.
MATERIALS: Sizes E, F & G crochet
hooks.
1 oz. baby yarn for solid color hat
½ oz EA for 2-tone
colored hat
Tapestry needle
Gauge: Using size F crochet hook: 5 sc
= 1 inch; 6 sc rows = 1 inch.
NOTE: Size E hook is used for
premature size
Size F hook is used for NB size
Size G hook is used for 3 – 6 MO size
Work all sts in back loop of sts of previous
row to create ribbing for stretch ability.
You may alternate colors, working 2 rows
MC and 2 rows CC. When changing colors, work new color into last 2 loops of
ending sc of previous color – do not
fasten off when changing colors: carry across.
HAT: Ch 35.
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch
from hook, sc in each ch across. Ch 1, turn – 34 scs.
Rows 2 thru 56: Sc in back loop only of each
st across. Ch 1, turn – 34 scs.
Using tapestry needle, weave remaining yarn in
end sts of every other row along the 56 row portion; pull yarn tightly and whipstitch
to firmly secure top of hat crown. Do not fasten off. Hold wrong side
of Row 1 and right side of Row 56 tog and sl st with crochet hook, or use
tapestry needle and go through the back loop of Row 56 – matching the 34
corresponding sts of foundation chain for back hat seam.
Fasten off and weave in end.

This Past Week in Review
This past week has been a busy one, here in
our own little slice of paradise east of Eden, likewise in our State, and globally.
I have been working practically non-stop on a
Care Box, and have completed 20 of the 21 requested items … but being the night
owl that I am, I will have the last item finished before dawn ;-) Then I will
give my poor aching hands a much deserved break for a week or so.
hawaii became the 1st state to
start legal procedures against President Trump concerning the LEGAL Travel ban …
even though hawaii representatives have hired (((A TERRORIST LAWYER!))) on
Friday, hawaii will have a difficult time going nose to nose with President
Trump and coming out a winner on this issue – but ridiculous pious morons
intent on making fools of themselves always rush in where angels fear to tread.
That goes for my State – WA – as well: I am unashamedly ASHAMED of my State
leadership and pray that they ALL GET FIRED when it comes time to vote them out
of office. The People have spoken, and the state heads are rebelling and
posturing for candidacy themselves … time to SHUT THEM DOWN and KICK THEM TO
THE CURB like the rabid snarling curs they are:
On the global scene, Israeli Prime Minister,
Benjamin Netanyahu met with Russia’s top man, Vlad Putin:
And Nikki Haley, America’s voice to the arab
owned and staffed u.n. made it very clear that American Representation to the u.n. will NOT remain silent
as snaky muslim barak hussain obama did when it comes to arab terrorist thugs strong-arming
Israel through u.n. interference's; she also stressed the point that the
phoney-baloney {palestinians} will NOT be “helped” by the u.n. anymore in their
single-minded attempt to destroy Israel through u.n. interference's – I LIKE
THIS GAL, she’s got spunk ;-)
And that makes this year a VERY HAPPY PURIM for us! Purim is a Hebrew “Celebration
of Deliverance”.
