ST. LOUIS-MISSOURI & WEST VIRGINIA

Woke up this morning to the news that Gordon Lightfoot had died :-(

Also saw news that had us thanking Elohim that we stubbornly refused to follow GPS's lead yesterday - those "wasted 500" miles literally saved our lives: Lucifer kept trying to reroute us to Illinois (destruction) yesterday … but Elohim was faithful to protect us as we traveled towards our destination.

We touched down in St. Louis, before continuing forward towards West Virginia.

Holland got excited when he saw 'the Arch'; St. Louis, Missouri.
Brick buildings of 'old' St. Louis.
'Old' St. Louis; now the slum area of the city.
This old church building was eye-catching.
Metal post - could have been for hitching horse-drawn carriages.
Loved the turquoise hued roof …
Salisbury Street; St. Louis-Missouri. The churches were located in the 'V' portion of this map.
St. Louis, Missouri skyline, modern bridge, and Missouri River.

Somewhere between St. Louis and Louisville, Holland stopped to diesel up … and came back to the 4x carrying a little bottle (8 oz.) of Coca Cola: I have never seen a little coke bottle - usually the bottles are 16 oz.; this one was cute :-)

Holland found this little bottle of Coke for me @ 'Country Mark' fuel station; he's a thoughtful husband.
Good price for Diesel.

My body also decided to sock it to me with a shingles outbreak … just about the time Ed Sheeran's song came over the airwaves, and Holland was winking at me.

I was already sporting scratches from Bleu's exuberant attentions - and now, a bright red rash was spreading over my arms and chest.

So much for honeymooning vibes :-(

SHINGLES OUTBREAK.
We are still newlywed's ;-)Ed Sheeran - 'Shape of You' song: (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JGwWNGJdvx8)
With puppy scratches all over my chest and arms; and the shingles outbreak, I didn't feel {hot} - even though my new husband kept telling me I was. I am thankful my Baby loves me just the way that I am ;-)

Even though we were mainly using the paper mapping - we did occasionally tap into GPS. That thing cost a king's ransom; we hoped that at some point it would start leading true.

So far, we've been disappointed - it does okay for fuel stops and quick food pickups … but it's mapping for addresses stinks.

If we had time to fool around, this wouldn't be an issue - but we're on a deadline to make and collect a purchase. We need it to accurate!

GPS, GPS, GPS!!!
Racking up the miles - and still nowhere near our destination.
No matter WHERE you are - you cannot avoid road or bridge work!
Louisville skyline. Holland claims he hates cities - but he sure gets excited to see a city skyline.
This cross would not be allowed at a Rest Area in the PNW.

Hopefully …
We MISSED this by MILES of rerouted GPS nonsense.

We finally made West Virginia … and found we were not where we were supposed to be!

Another motel sleepover in in the cards.
Unbelievable! We still have MILES to go.
We keep reminding ourselves, 'we are having fun'.
We said a prayer - and hoped GPS was on the mark this time.
