I heard the report this morning, that Loretta Lynn died. She was 90 yo.

Daughter & County Queen, Dies”: https://apnews.com/article/loretta-lynn-dies-5f1545e60e37e482faa42cbb25ae61e8?fbclid=IwAR32UaldOdiFh5Le8KVvQuQmTTfJh2ikcHQ3FeI7QOpZCSN3Ip4-DQBKJOQ
My mother actually met Loretta Lynn when she
was singing at Fairs, back East. My mother also met Patsy Cline several times.
My mother was a groupie before groupies were "a thing"
Loretta was a teenage bride - very young, married between 13 and 16; she had 3 children by the time her early 20's came around. Loretta's mother was a Native American (Cherokee).
Loretta was all about women's lib ... and was very vocal about it in her songs, in a time when that was not acceptable. Her husband was rough and rowdy - and was 8 or 10 years older than she was - but he towed the line: she didn't put up with macho bullshit.

My Grandfather Joseph Ball was a coal miner, but he wasn't poor. Grandpa died of black lung when I was 6 years old, but I have good memories of him: those memories make me smile. I wish Bob could have known him. Bob met my Grandmother Ball when we were dating.
This song was my mother's favorite ...
