Wedding Song - God Knew That I Needed You

PLEASE, PLEASE – GO AWAY!

When I saw the snow falling this morning, I didn’t even bother entertaining thoughts of trying to get to Keenager’s this afternoon … it’s a local (maybe 5 minutes from home) gathering for midweek Christian interaction – coffee, buffet, convo, songs, and a short message of encouragement.

And the snowfall continues ...

My Thursday Coffee Hour in Naselle also will not be happening, tomorrow; and as my post last night indicated: my annual trip to Adna on Friday, to buy Spring plants has been scrapped, as well as the scheduled Saturday Seder, in Vancouver.

All because Mother Nature is in a snit mood

The only thing getting any real mileage, currently, is my imagination 😉

I opened my FB Page to briefly check on my Friend’s statuses … and immediately saw that FB is again questioning the reality of ME. I suppose all the connecting-disconnecting-connecting-disconnecting going on, on FB yesterday due to internet accessibility during the steady snowfall, had the sketchy FB {team} freaked out about the reality of me.

I’m running out of new password options! The FB Team needs to go pester someone else - this happens every other month. It's getting real old, real fast.

When I suffiently (and huffily  close to matching Mother Nature's snit mood; LOL!) jumped through all the querying loops, and closed FB; I looked up again, and could see that the snowfall had intensified.

The snowfall had picked up in speed – and the flakes were morphing into nickel-sized diameter.
It's still not sticking; but the Highlander will not be poking it's nose out of the carport any time soon ...

I was glad when my phone came to life (this snowbaby is getting sick if the sight of snowflakes), and I heard my niece Sara’s voice; she just called to say Hello/I love You – no special reason other than she loves me and was thinking of me … so, she picked up her phone and called 😊

I like those kinds of phone calls.

Sara is the only remaining family member (on either side) that remains in touch with me.

It brightened my day.

Suddenly, I didn’t feel the weight anymore of the oppressive snowflakes 😉

Big, FAT, snowflakes. Where were these things at Christmastime???

NATION’S 1st INTERNATIONAL MERMAID MUSEUM

I had to go into town today for a few grocery items – so I slipped my Spring themed coffee mug cuff off … and replaced it with Frosty the Snowman, since the snowfall does not seem to want to fade away.

MOD Snowman Cuff back on my thermos Travel Cup.
Spotted an EV in the Winco parking lot this afternoon: NOPE – it does not appeal to me! It’s waaay too small for my needs.

I got back home without any mishaps; unloaded the groceries and cases of water: and checked my FB Page for messages – and to make sure my ‘Friends’ are still alive and kicking 😉

I came across an interesting post on the Wandering Washington FB Page.

This might be interesting ;-)

So, I researched it online to get more information about it (Why? Where is it located?; ect.)

From what I can gather online, the Mermaid Museum is located pretty much halfway between Aberdeen and Westport.

NO – I do not believe actual mermaids exist ... but, this does sound interesting; and a drive to Westport-WA, would be a fun way to spend a sunny day Daytrip :-)

Just like the myth of Atlantis, the mermaid tales have been passed down through the generations. On sunny days, people head towards the ocean beaches and let their imaginations loose.

Imagination is not reality.

But entertaining flights of fancy can be fun on a dreary day ;-)

Visiting the flight of fancy museum will be a fun get-away-daytripping adventure 😊

Getting there will be an all-day thing; and I’ll have to gas up in Westport or Aberdeen, on my way back home (and at nearly $5/gal., that will be a spendy loop drive); but as soon as the snow stops falling and the weather warms up, I’ll be chomping at the bit to hit the road and see things I’ve not seen before 😊

Mermaid Museum from Heron Point; (118.4 mi) via WA-4 W and US-101 N - 2 hr & 23 mins.

It cost me $34 to pump ¼-tank of gas this afternoon; granted there was a 9-cent reduction from 2 weeks ago, but I’m thinking the gas price will jump quite bit up as soon as Spring Fling travel starts and Summer, kicks in: it always does. And with the obama-biden-cartel politically manipulated inflation spikes added to that seasonal gas hike occurrence, gas prices will be rocketing into outer space this year.

9-cent difference at the pump, this afternoon, compared to the gas price on March 31st – last time I topped the tank off.

But … I’m still penciling daytrips into my life: gotta have ‘em. Sitting around watching the grass grow in the neighbor’s lawn, isn’t how I envision spending my Golden Years.

I am not a rich widow – I am a frugal one 😉

I am going to fix a salad to lunch on … and dream of a sunny days with an ocean viewHopefully soon.
