Philippians ~ Chapter 2/Thursday Bible Study

In Chapter 2, Christ is the model for true humility. The focus of this chapter is the grandeur (splendor = finery/symbol of office; impressiveness = powerfulness, effectiveness, brilliance; luxury = extra, comfort, bonus; marvel = wonder, miracle, amazing thing; magnificence = glory, credit, triumph, success; greatness = hugeness/sheer size, importance, prominence/status) of the truth (fact = point, statement; reality = certainty, foregone conclusion/safe bet; reliability = dependable, constant, steadfast/commitment, firm; authenticity = accuracy/correct, exact; legitimacy = validity/lawful, recognized/acceptable, realness; genuineness = indisputable/no lawful argument against-) of the *B’rit Chadashah concerning the revelation (eye-opener) of **Yeshua’s humbleness when He left =Heaven to become a servant (help) of man – to redeem #mankind for ***Elohei Ha’Elohim.

Every Philippian Chapter echoes with the topic of the centrality (importance, critical point of -) of Christ Jesus in the Christian’s life: chapter 2 encourages the Philippian Believers to have the mind of Christ concerning all things. Paul is seeking with this letter to the Philippians, to correct the problems of disunity (discord = friction, argument, strife/trouble; conflict = struggle, cash, tension; division = separation, splitting up/break) and rivalry (competition, challenge, jealousy) that has sprung up among them in his absence. Paul exhorts the small fellowship to show mutual ##agape love and Christian concern for each other by embracing the attitude of humility exampled by Christ Himself … that Yeshua did not lord His standing with Elohim over anyone – Paul is asking the Philippians to apply this same attitude to their lives, and he gives examples of ###self-submissions by giving further details by highlighting on the ministries of !#Timothy and !!#Epaphroditus.

Philippians ~ Chapter 2/Thursday Bible Study

Exhortation to Humility

“Therefore, if there is any encouragement in our relationship with Christ, if love gives an incentive, if our hearts are united by the ****Ruach HaKo’desh and if we have sincere (heartfelt, honest/straight) affections (fondness/liking, warmth, friendliness) and sympathies (kindness, fellow feelings), then make my joy (happiness, delight in-, gladness, pride in-) complete by living in harmony (agreement/pact = accord), by having the same love and by setting (placing, resting, fixing, adjusting) your minds on the same goal. Do nothing out of party spirit (to drink liquor freely or excessively; to take part in a carouse/get drunk: engage in dissolute/self-indulgent, immoral behavior) or pride (arrogance/self-importance, smugness, egotism/big-headedness). On the contrary, be humble and let each one think of the other as better than himself. Let each one have in mind not only his own interests … but also the welfare of others. (vvs. 1 – 4)

The Humility and Exaltation (Adoration/Worship, Acclaim/Praise, Hail/Acknowledge) of Yeshua Ha’Mashiach

Have the same attitude (pose = position of yourself) that Christ Jesus had. Though He had always existed as God, yet He did not grasp (clutch/hold tight = seize) at this equality (sameness/likeness = rendering/exposé) with Elohei Ha’Elohim. No, He laid it all aside and consented to take on the nature (character/type, quality/kind = inferiority/lowliness) of a slave (a person who is completely subservient to a dominating influence) and to be born like other men. Then, having become a man (a human being), He humiliated Himself still more, and was willing to be put to death – even to die on the cross (Isaiah 53).

He was wounded for our transgressions.
Jonathan Settle – ‘Isaiah 53’ song:

*****Elohim has therefore exalted Him and has given Him a Name above all other names: and so, at the Name of Yeshua Ha’Mashiach everyone should kneel (stoop = go down on knees, in worship) – whether He be in Heaven, or on Earth, in in the ==underworld. And likewise, every tongue should confess (declare, profess, affirm, acknowledge = make known) that Christ is ******Lord, to the glory (credit, triumph/satisfaction) of Elohim the Father. (vvs. 5 – 11)

A Demonstrable (provable/watertight, verifiable/certain, self-evident/clear, obvious) Faith (trust, conviction/assurance, belief)

My beloved (treasured/much-loved), you have always been obedient (dutiful); not only when I have been with you but even more so when I have been absent. So now you must demonstrate your own salvation with fear and trembling: it is really Elohim Who works in you, so that you are not only willing … abut also to carry out His loving purposes.

Do everything without grumbling or arguing. In that way you may become blameless and faultless – Elohim’s innocent Children in a crooked and perverted Age. And shine among people like beacon lights in the world. You offer men the Word of Life (John 1:1 – 4), so that when the ===Day of Christ comes it will be my joy that I did not spend my life in vain … that my labor was not wasted. I am happy about it and, even if my own lifeblood has to be offered as a sacrificial token of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with you all. In the same way you, too, should be glad and rejoice with me. (vvs. 12 – 18)

The Sending of Timothy

The Lord Jesus willing, I hope to send Timothy to you before long. I shall then be cheered (made joyful) by receiving news about you. There is no one like him, who is so genuinely interested in everything that concerns you. Most people seem to have their own interests at heart, but not the business of Christ Jesus. But you have had proof of his worth, how like a son helping his father he served together with me in preaching the Gospel. I hope to send him without delay as soon as I can find out how my own case will turn out. And I feel sure that, with the Lord’s help, I myself shall soon come to you. (vvs. 19 – 24)

The Sending of Epaphroditus

I believe that it is necessary to send Epaphroditus also to you. He is a brother to me, my companion in labors, my brother in arms (indicates one has helped to fight an enemy especially in a war), and he is a messenger that you – yourselves – sent to minister to my needs.  He has been homesick for all of you and is worried because you learned he was ill. Indeed, he was very ill, almost to death; but Elohim had mercy on him. He not only had mercy on him, but on me, too, so that I should not have this sorrow added to my other troubles. So, I am more eager to send him, that you may have the joy of seeing him again and I may have less anxiety. So, give him a hearty, joyous welcome in the Lord! Honor such a man. As for him, he risked his life to make up what was lacking in your service in my behalf.” (vvs. 25 – 30)

*B’rit Chadashah = The New Testament. B’rit Chadashah in Hebrew, means, “The New Covenant” (the word B’rit means “covenant” and Chadashah means “new”). The literal meaning of B’rit Chadashah is “a New Covenant By Blood” … aka Yeshua’s Blood shed on Calvary.

New Covenant (Jeremiah 31:31-34). The New Covenant is a covenant made first with the nation of Israel and, ultimately, with all mankind. In the New Covenant, God promises to forgive sin, and there will be a universal knowledge of the Lord. Jesus Christ came to fulfill the Law of Moses (Matthew 5:17) and create a new covenant between God and His people. Now that we are under the New Covenant, both Jews and Gentiles can be free from the penalty of the Law. We are now given the opportunity to receive salvation as a free gift (Ephesians 2:8-9).

**Yeshua Ha’Mashiach: is Hebrew for “Jesus the Messiah”; the name Jesus is the Greek form of the Hebrew name Yeshua.

Christ (from the Hebrew word, Ha’Mashiach ישוע המשיח & the Greek word, Christos/khris-tos) = The Anointed, Yeshua the Messiah, in both languages.

=Heaven = (1) – the expanse of space that seems to be over the earth like a dome. (2) – often capitalizedthe dwelling place of Elohei Ha’Elohim, and the Saints who believe in Him, and accepted salvation in His only begotten Son, Yeshua Ha’Mashiach (3) – a place or condition of utmost happinesssomething that is very pleasant and enjoyable.

#Mankind = refers to all human beings … male and female; usually in the sense of social or conscious beings.

***Elohei Ha’Elohim (Hebrew word: אֱלֹהֵי הָאֱלֹהִים) = God of gods; above all gods.

##Agape love = (/ɑːˈɡɑːpeɪ, ˈɑːɡəˌpeɪ, ˈæɡə-/; from Ancient Greek ἀγάπη (agápē)) is "the highest form of love”; and is contrasted with eros, or erotic love, and philia, or brotherly love. Agape love is pure love, emptied of ego.

###self-submissions: the action or fact of accepting or yielding to a superior force or to the will or authority of another person.

!#Timothy = son of the devout Jewish woman, Eunice, and a Greek father, Timothy became a follower of Yeshua Ha’Mashiach when Apostle Paul preached the Gospel in Lystra, Timothy’s hometown. Paul invited the young convert to accompany him on his second missionary journey; and was sent to Thessalonica to strengthen the fellowship there. After another journey with Paul, Timothy was sent to Corinth to straighten out some problems upsetting the fellowship there.

Timothy later looked after Paul during Paul’s imprisonment. Timothy subsequently was asked to go to Ephesus to represent Paul, and received the two letters from Paul that bear Timothy’s Name. Timothy – these letters reveal, was like a son to Paul. The last word in the New Covenant

 About this sensitive, sickly, but faithful young helper was that he was imprisoned but finally released. Acts 16:1, 17:14-15, 18:5, 19:22 & 20:4; Romans 16:21; 1 Corinthians 4;17 & 16:10; 2 Corinthians1:1 & 19; Colossians 1:1; 1 Thessalonians 1:1, 3:2, & 6; 2 Thessalonians 1:1; 1 & 2 Timothy; Philemon 1; and Hebrews 13:23.

!!#Epaphroditus = a Christian Believer from Philippi. Epaphroditus was sent by his home fellowship to fellowship to carry collected money for Paul during the Apostle’s imprisonment in Rome. Epaphroditus stayed with Paul, helping until he himself took seriously ill and nearly died; recovering, he asked to return home to Philippi. Paull sent his touching letter to the Philippians back with Epaphroditus, and referred to the faithful messenger in glowing terms as, “my brother and fellow-worker and fellow soldier.” Philippians 2;25 & 4:18.

****Ruach HaKo’desh: In Hebrew, the Holy Spirit (רוח הקודשRoo-ahk hah-Koh-desh) refers to the divine force, quality, and influence (aka, power) of God.

The Holy Spirit (Luke 3:16 & 11:13; 1 Corinthians 6:9; Ephesians 1:13 & 4:30; 1 Thessalonians 4:8; Titus 3:5; and Jude 1:20), is referred to more than 90 times in the Brit Chadashah.

*****Elohim (Hebrew: אֱלֹהִים, romanized: ʾĚlōhīm: [(eloˈ(h)im]) is a Hebrew word meaning "Gods – Father, Son, & Holy Spirit". Although the word is plural in form, in the Hebrew Bible it usually refers to a single deity “Behold, the Lord – the Lord is One”, particularly the at God of Israel.

==Underworld = Sheol (/ˈʃiː. oʊl, -əl/ SHEE-ohl, -əl; Hebrew: שְׁאוֹל‎ Šəʾōl) in the Hebrew Bible is a place of still darkness which lies after death. Although not well defined in the Tanakh, Sheol in this view was a subterranean underworld where the souls of the dead went after the body died.

******Lord Jesus Christ (in Greek: Kyrios Iēsous Christos) = the most formal title for Jesus (Yeshua). It occurs often in the New Testament letters.

The word “Lord” has a wide range of uses; it can be a simple respectful “Sir” or a more formal, “Master.” But the New Testament also uses “Lord” of God. The word “Christ” is the anglicized form of the Greek word meaning “anointed one” or “Messiah.” “Lord Jesus Christ” reminds us that Jesus is both the promised Messiah and our God.

===The phrase “the Day of Christ” or “the Day of the Lord Jesus” is unique to the Apostle Paul. Paul also called the Day of Christ “that Day” in his last letter. The phrases are found in: 1 Corinthians 1:8, 3:13, 5:5; 2 Corinthians 1:14; Philippians 1:6, 10 & 2:16; 2 Timothy 1:18 & 4:8.

On the other hand, the phrase, “the Day of The Lord” (also called “that Day”) is common throughout the Old Covenant = Abrahamic: the prophets referred constantly to it. In the New Covenant = Gospel, Yeshua Ha’Mashiach, Paul and Peter referred to it. Some of those passages are as follows: Isaiah 2:12, 13:6 & 9, and 34:8; Ezekiel 13:5 & 30:3; Joel 1:15, 2:1, 11, & 31, and 3:14; Amos 5:18 & 5:20; Obadiah 1:15; Zephaniah 1:7, 14; Zechariah 14;1; Malachi 4:5; Matthew 24:1-51; Acts 2:20; Romans 2:5; 1 Thessalonians 5;2; 2 Thessalonians 2:2; 2 Peter 3:10 and Revelation 1:10 … and “that Day” phrases can be found in Isaiah 2:11, 17, 20 & 3:18this Day is a time of terror, darkness, and wrath: it is a “Day of Visitation”, Isaiah 10:3. A “Day of the wrath of The Lord”, Ezekiel 7:19, and “the Great Day of The Lord”, Zephaniah 1:14.

Abrahamic Covenant: The Covenant (binding promise/an eternal contract) between Abraham and Elohim consisted of 3 separate parts (1) the promised Land (Israel Homeland) (2) the promised of descendants (3) the promise of blessing and redemption.

Gospel: the word is derived from the Anglo-Saxon term, god-spell, meaning “good story”; Biblically speaking, gospel is a rendering of the Latin evangelium and the Greek euangelion, meaning “good news” or “good telling”.

POLITICIANS ... are ALL snakes.

NONE of the recent election {wins} sound good for Americans.

N.O.N.E.

"The People" are literally on our own: politicians work for themselves, with an eye on the Oval Office as the golden ring promise.

While republicans SAY they work for US ... 99% of them work hand-in-glove with the demonrats, preferring to save their {career}, rather than actually DO what they CLAIM they WILL "do, once elected".

How many Republican leaders can you truthfully say uphold the Republican Creed claims noted below????

They ALL LIE!

NONE of the politician’s work for US.

WISHES THAT COME TRUE ~My thoughts on griner saga

I heard on the radio yesterday that this ANTI-American demonrat demigod was shifted to a maximum-level soviet gulag.

She is FINALLY LIVING HER DREAM LIFE.

I think she'll be gaining a new respect for America, and the American Anthem ... and will enter American again, in 2031 with a new mindset.

As a military brat who comes from a family of long-standing American SUPPORTERS (literally from the beginning of America’s start …), I whole-heartedly support, and applaud this Vet’s letter to griner.

P.S: He gives her more respect than I do. My bio-father was a vet who served in ALL BRANCHES of the USA Military. My stepfather was a Vietnam Vet. I DO NOT ALLOW for anyone putting our Vets down.

************

While she’s writing all of these letters to America begging for us to save her, it would be very fitting if she’d write a letter of apology to our veterans (and all of us) begging for our forgiveness.

No Remorse on her part.

This Vietnam Vet’s letter - a must read…

Dear Ms. Griner,

We hope this letter finds you in good health, and we understand you are having some rough times in your life.

We are a group of old Vietnam Combat Veterans from North Carolina. Our average age is around seventy years old. We call ourselves, The Bunker Boys. We spent a lot of time living in rat and snake infested holes in the ground known as Bunkers.

When we were not in the bunkers, we were crawling through the jungle being shot at. We must be honest and tell you that the only thing we may have in common with you is that we, too, were drafted. We noticed you were drafted number one in the WNBA draft a few years ago.

Since we all were drafted, we thought we might let you know what it was like when we were drafted.

Unlike you, most of us had no college.

The people of the United States drafted us. We consisted of all colors, religions and personal beliefs. We had no choice of which team we played for: Army, Navy, Air Force or Marines.

We were sent halfway around the world to fight and kill people we didn’t know in a place we had never heard of. We were paid, we know you can relate to this, $3.00 a day, and were required to work 24 hours a day if needed. When we returned home, many or most of us were treated very badly by our fellow Americans. We were spit on and hit by bottles and rocks as the police stood by and watched.

We did not complain, we just continued on in life and made the best of it.

We fought for God, family, country and of course, the Flag and the National Anthem, a poem that was written by, of all people, a lawyer. He wrote the poem/anthem as he watched bombs fall on and kill fellow Americans. Ever since that night, our nation has played that little poem before millions of social functions.

For some people, it’s just a little song.

For a Veteran, it is a reminder of how many men and women of all colors have given their lives so the rest can have the right to be free.

We found in our research that you requested the National Anthem not be played at sporting events. We find it odd that now you are requesting the citizens of the United States to pay for your release from a jail in Russia. Yes, we the taxpayers are paying for all of those diplomats working on your release.

Our government told you, and all fellow Americans in Russia, to leave Russia after the invasion of the Ukraine. You play basketball in a country that is known to treat Americans badly. You fly a great deal and must know by now, all the rules of what one can bring into a country. All of us that travel know the rules for entering a foreign country.

You are a guest and must go by the rules of the land.

By your own admission, you were attempting to bring an illegal substance into a country that is known for its long prison sentences. You had to know this because you are making a million dollars a year to play a game and you hold a college degree.

At six feet nine inches tall, you know that security officers are going to focus on you from the moment you stand in the boarding pass line. We also noticed that you are now saying you placed the drugs in your luggage by accident.

Please, that is something an 18-year-old would say.

We also found out that your net worth is somewhere around $ 5 million bucks for playing a game. For old guys like us, living on a fixed income, that’s a lot of money for just playing a game. Don’t get us wrong; we are not against you.

We all went and fought so all Americans can have the freedom to make their own choices.

We just hope the next time you have to endure the playing of that little poem, you will pay close attention to the “Land of the free,” part.

Wishing you the very best,

The Bunker Boys
