RABBIT!

Rabbits are so cute!

This morning, after posting the Crisp Waffles Recipe ~Chocolate Waffles post (https://jeastofeden.blogspot.com/2022/08/crisp-waffles-recipe-chocolate-waffles.html), my right eye peripheral vision noticed a quick moving animal scurrying from the neighbor’s carport into my front yard. Hoping it wasn’t an unwanted nutria or muskrat (Heron Pointe Park is located near an inaccessible water dike that butts up against the northern edge of Park premises), I went to my front window and peeked out.

I couldn’t believe what I was seeing: a wild rabbit!

RABBIT!

So, I grabbed the phone and took a few snapshots, and videos 😊

A brown wild rabbit entertained me this morning.
Little brown wild rabbit.
Resting; the outside temperature is only 61-degrees – but humidity has already hit the 93% mark.

Wild rabbits are so cute – and I haven’t seen one since we lived on Merritt Drive on Westside Highway; we had lively kamikaze rabbits, there that liked to live dangerously by leaping and diving across the headlight beams highlighting the driveway 😉

I was happy to see this little fluffy bit of wild nature in my front yard; and I’m hoping it will not become a beautiful, destructive nuisance (garden, or home destruction). I ignored that line of thought … and just enjoyed the moment, which stretched into an hour of voyeur delight 😊

A cute little trespasser.
Feeling secure enough to start getting real comfortable.
Winding down ...

After a bit, it started getting restless; and hopped into another front flowerbed. I carefully creeped into the laundry room and removed my flipflops (I did not want a repeat of falling down the stairs, again! Bare feet are the safest thing on these porch stairs) before inching the door open, and stealthily padding quietly to the front end of the house hoping to get a {close up and personal} picture.

Making itself small in another front flower bed ...

I was outside in my pj’s, sneaking around the corner of my own house; LOL

Watching neighbors were probably wondering ‘what is the widow doing now’; let them wonder 😉

It's not even skittish; I'm not that far away from it.

((((YES!))))

Thank You, Yeshua!

That cute little bit of fluff made my fading flowerbeds look peppier than they are; blossoms are drying, leaves are starting to fall from overhead tree branches, and the river breeze has a little Fall nip to it, recently. We had no Spring to speak of this year, and the Summer has been short.

Fall is a mere 6½ weeks off ...

And away it goes! But it sure made my day while it hung around ...

Rabbits are considered “a lucky sign” in many cultures. A rabbit seen in the wild is seen as a positive – and having one cross your direct path is considered lucky: good luck in love and family, abundance and prosperity, intuition/spontaneity/and wittiness are all associated with seeing a rabbit.

The lifespan of a wild rabbit is around 9 years. Rabbits spend most of their short life within the same 10-acre area. Relocating rabbits confuses them, causing them to get hit by cars or be killed by unfamiliar predators.

As long as this little rabbit behaves itself and doesn't cause property damages, I'll be okay with it sharing my town lot.

GALATIANS ~ Chapter 5/Thursday Bible Study

GALATIANS ~ Chapter 5/Thursday Bible Study

Spiritual Freedom vs Bodily Bondage

*Christ set us free, that we should be free men. Stand fast, therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery. And so I, Paul, say to you: If you go and become circumcised, Christ will not be of any help to you. I warn you again that if anyone become circumcised, he thereby becomes obligated to keep the whole Law. You who expect to become justified by means of the Law thereby cut yourselves off from Christ, and you fall away from grace. It is by Faith, through the **Ruach HaKo’desh, that we hope for sanctification. For is Christ neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything. Faith only brings about the union, Faith that finds expression in love. (vv. 1-6)

Warning against Judaism

You were making progress. Who has been hindering you from obeying the truth? This persuasion is not from Him Who is calling you. It does not take much yeast to leaven the whole lump. Still, I have faith in you, in the Lord (Christ), that you will not hold other views, and that the man who is disturbing you will receive his condemnation, no matter who he may be. As for me, brethren, if I still advocated circumcision, why should I be persecuted? No, and if I did, then the hostility due to the cross would be done away with. Oh, how I wish that those who are disturbing you would cut themselves off from you! (vv. 7-12)

The Freedom of Sonship Is by Love, Not License

Brethren, you have been called to freedom, but be careful that this freedom does not become an excuse for sinful gratifications, but rather you should serve one another in love. In fact, the whole Law can be summarized and fulfilled in the one command, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself!’ But if you keep on biting and devouring one another, look out lest you destroy one another altogether! (vv. 13-15)

Heed my advice: walk by the Ruach HaKo’desh, and do not in any way yield to the desires of the flesh. For the desires of the flesh are contrary to those of the Ruach HaKo’desh – and the desires of the Ruach HaKo’desh are against that of the flesh. These two are opposed to each other, and therefore you cannot always do what you would or should. But if you let the Ruach HaKo’desh lead you, you are not under the Law. The works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery (sexual infidelity, disloyalty, falseness, treachery, betrayal, deceitfulness, faithlessness), fornication (agreeable sexual activity between a bachelor man and a bachelorette woman, extramarital sex, a ‘free-for-all’ indulgence in sexual activity), licentiousness (extravagance, wastefulness, reckless, decadence, debauchery, immorality, shamelessness, depravity), idolatry (the worship of someone or something other than ***Elohei Ha’Elohim  – anything that you love, treasure, prioritize, identify with, or look to for fulfillment outside of Elohei Ha’Elohim), sorcery (bewitchment = familiarity with demons/casting of spells, conjuring = invoking/summoning the spirits of the dead, enchantment = charm, magic = mystical, paranormal, necromancy = black magic/communicating with the dead to foretell the future, witchery/wizardry = witchcraft) enmity (hostility, antagonism, rancor, hatred), strife (conflict, discord, contention, fighting, friction, rivalry), jealousy (envy, covetousness, resentment, suspicion), ill-temper (irritability, hostility), contentions (aimless arguments, continual conflicts), dissensions (discords, rebellions), divisions (angry rifts, hostile breaks with unity); envy (resentment, spite, grudges, jealousies), murder (hateful killing, slaughter, slay), drunkenness (alcoholism, intemperance, inebriation, intoxication), carousing (partying = revelry, riotous behavior, bragging/boasting, swaggering, gloating, showing off), and the like. (vv. 16-21)

The Fruit of Living by the Spirit

But the fruit of the Ruach HaKo’desh is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, meekness, and self-control. There is no law against these. Note that it is those who belong to ****Yeshua Ha’Mashiach, who have crucified the flesh with its worldly passions and desires.

Then, if we live by the Ruach HaKo’desh, let us also walk by the Ruach HaKo’desh. Let us not become conceited (vain = hallow/empty, proud/smug, arrogant, big-headed, narcissistic), nor should we provoke (needle = goad, irritate, bait/inflame, hassle/whip up) one another, or envy (moved by jealousy to resent or begrudge) one another.” (vv. 22-26)

*Christ (from the Hebrew word, Ha’Mashiach ישוע המשיח & the Greek word, Christos/khris-tos) = The Anointed, Yeshua the Messiah, in both languages.

**Ruach HaKo’desh: In Hebrew, the Holy Spirit (רוח הקודשRoo-ahk hah-Koh-desh) refers to the divine force, quality, and influence (aka, power) of God.

The Holy Spirit (Luke 3:16 & 11:13; 1 Corinthians 6:9; Ephesians 1:13 & 4:30; 1 Thessalonians 4:8; Titus 3:5; and Jude 1:20), is referred to more than 90 times in the Brit Chadashah.

B’rit Chadashah = The New Testament. B’rit Chadashah in Hebrew, means, “The New Covenant” (the word B’rit means “covenant” and Chadashah means “new”). The literal meaning of B’rit Chadashah is “a New Covenant By Blood” … aka Yeshua’s Blood.

***Elohei Ha’Elohim (Hebrew word: אֱלֹהֵי הָאֱלֹהִים)) = God of gods; above all gods.

****Yeshua Ha’Mashiach: is Hebrew for “Jesus the Messiah”; the name Jesus is the Greek form of the Hebrew name Yeshua.

CRISP WAFFLES RECIPE ~Chocolate Waffles

Chocolate Waffles; 14 ct.

I woke up this morning with a hankering for waffles. I don’t usually eat waffles (that was Bob’s thing), but today I was prodded to make a batch. Maybe it’s the shorter days and the overnight rains that brought the prod on 😉

Anyway … a batch got made. And I added about a ¼ of a cup of powdered chocolate to the mix. Chocolate is a good mood booster on dreary days 😊

Health Benefits of Chocolate: https://www.webmd.com/diet/health-benefits-chocolate#1

My waffle iron is a small one, so my waffles are small; they’re about the size of (14 ct., 4” x 4” square) the frozen waffles you buy and pop into the toaster.

The original recipe – which I am posting – only makes 3 ct. 10” waffles

CRISP WAFFLES

2 Eggs * 1¾ cup Milk (decrease to 1 ½ cups if you prefer puffy waffles) * ½ cup Margarine, butter, or vegetable oil * 2 cup all-purpose Flour * 4 teaspoons baking Powder * 1 Tablespoon granulated Sugar * ½ teaspoon Salt

Heat waffle iron.

Beat eggs with hand beater until fluffy; beat in remaining ingredients just until smooth. Pour batter from a measuring cup onto center of hot waffle iron. Bake until steaming stops – about 5 minutes. Remove waffle carefully.

Do-ahead Tip: After baking and cooling, wrap waffles individually in aluminum foil and freeze. To heat, unwrap and bake on ungreased cookie sheet in 400-degree oven until hot, 8 to 10 minutes.
