THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO MATTHEW ~ Chapter 11
Chapter 11: When Yeshua had finished
giving instructions to His 12 disciples, He went on to teach and preach in the towns
around there.
Meanwhile, John had heard in prison about the
work of the Christ, and now sent 2 of his disciples to ask Him, ‘Are You the
coming One, or must we look for another?’ Yeshua answered them, “Go and tell
John what you hear and see. The blind see, the lame walk, lepers are made
clean, the deaf hear, and dead bodies are raised and the Good News is preached to
the poor. Blessed in the man who does not take offense in Me.” As they were
about to leave, Yeshua began to say to the crowds in regard to John, “What did
you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind? No? Then what
did you go out to look at? A man dressed in fine clothes? Well, those in fine
clothing are in the palaces of kings. Then just what did you expect to see? A
prophet? Oh yes, I tell you, one who was much more than a prophet. For this is
the man of whom Scripture says, ‘Attention! I am sending My messenger before
you, who will prepare Your road ahead of You! (Malachi 3:1). Believe Me,
no greater son of woman has ever arisen than John the Baptist, and yet the
lesser ones in the kingdom of heaven are greater than he. From the days of John
the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven has been taken by force – those
using force to seize it. For all the prophets and the Law kept prophesying until
John. And – if you are willing to accept it – he is the Elijah who was to come. He who has ears to hear, take heed.”
“To what shall I compare the people of today?
They are like children sitting in the market place calling out to their
playmates, ‘we played the flute to you, but you would not dance. Then we wailed
to you, but you did not play mourners.’ They say about John, a strict man who
neither ate nor drank with you, ‘he is demon possessed.’ Then came the Son of
man, eating like others, and they say, ‘Look! He is a glutton and a drunkard, a
companion of tax-collectors and sinners.’ Well, wisdom is justified by he
works.”
Then He began to reproach the cities in which
most of His miracles had taken place, because they had not repented. “Woe to
you, Chorazin (an ancient village in northern Galilee, two and a half miles from Capernaum on a hill above the northern shore of the Sea of Galilee)! Woe to you, Bethsaida (located
on a basaltic spur north of the Sea of Galilee, near the inflow of the Jordan
River into the Sea of
Galilee)! For if the mighty works which have taken
place in you had taken place long ago in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented
in sackcloth and ashes. I tell you this: on the Day of Judgement it will be
easier for Tyre and Sidon than for you. And you, Capernaum (located on the northern shore of the Sea of Galilee), were you not exalted to
heaven? You shall be brought as low as death! Even Sodom (the ancient Biblical "city of sin") would
have stood on this day if the miracles that had been performed in you had been
performed there. I say, therefore, that it will be easier for Sodom on the Day
of Judgement than for you.”
At this time, Yeshua revealed His thoughts by
saying, “Elohim, Lord of heaven and earth, I thank You for having kept these things
concealed from wise and learned men, and that You have made them clear to
little children. Even so, Elohim, for it was well-pleasing to You.”
“Everything has been entrusted to Me by My
Father. No one knows the Son clearly except the Father, and no one understands
the Father except the Son, and those to whom the Son may choose to reveal Him.
Come to Me, all you who toil and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Fit
my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble-minded, and you
will find rest for your souls. For My yoke fits so easily that My burden is
light.”

URGENT REQUEST: I would like to ask prayer
warriors to pray for our family – our neighbor’s front porch is disgustingly
moldy and it’s mere feet from our car port; we have already made several emergency trips to ER for severe asthma attacks and I have talked to the Park Manager
about the situation … three times now; and she is not willing to speak to our
neighbor about it because she ‘doesn’t understand how we could be suffering
from mold’ – she claims to ‘have driven past the mentioned house and seen
nothing to be concerned about’; and ‘are you sure the mold is not in your
house?’ (1) She doesn’t have to “understand”
– she needs to act. Pronto. It’s a known fact that mold … especially black
mold, such as is on the neighbors porch and front of her house is deadly to
people with weak lungs, such as asthma sufferers (2) the mold cannot be seen from a drive by quick peek – especially
from someone who refuses to think it even exists, or is a serious health problem
(3) NO! There is NO mold in OUR
house … we had our house thoroughly checked inside/outside/underneath
for any indication of black mold before we moved in (4) and lastly: Park Bylaws STATE
clearly that homes are to be maintained; meaning NO mold, up to date roofing,
and painted every 10 years – the next door house is failing ALL mentioned areas
of Park Rules. It appears to me that the Park Manager is actually afraid of
this woman and does not want to speak to her at all about the situation. Please
pray that this situation is taken care of and that we do not have to make
another flying trips to ER because the Park Manager
will not behave like a Manager and do her job. We are newbies to the Park and don’t
want to make waves, but we do not want to be held hostage in our home either
because of stubborn rebellion (neighbor’s part) and fearful attitudes (Park Manager’s
part). We need to get into our car that is right next to this disgusting mess that
attacks our lungs. Thank you. God will bless those mighty prayer
warriors who bless us with their fervent prayers :-D Shalom ~Val
